Thousands of Mexicans have staged a march in the capital to protest the results of the country’s presidential election in July.
Nearly seven thousand demonstrators took to the streets of Mexico City on Saturday.
They chanted slogans against Enrique Pena Nieto, of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), who won the presidential race with just over 38 percent of the vote.
The angry protesters voiced frustration with the results announced by the Federal Electoral Institute.
Spearheading the protests is leftist presidential candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and his party who formally asked Mexico's electoral court on Thursday to invalidate the election results.
The petition lodged cited vote buying and campaign overspending by Pena Nieto.
Pena Nieto’s campaign is accused of distributing thousands of gift cards to voters before the election, and PRI government officials are accused of passing funds to his campaign effort.
Lopez Obrador also said Mexico's television broadcasters favored his rival and used pre-election polls as propaganda to influence people.
The court has until early September to examine the complaints and determine whether to validate the election.
