The Iranian volleyball team has crushed Pakistan to continue its winning run in the 16th Asian Men's Volleyball Championship.
Iran downed the Pakistani team in the second round of the event in three straight sets 25-18, 25-14, and 25-11 in Azadi Indoor Stadium in the Iranian capital Tehran on Sunday.
Iran is in Pool E of the second round along with Pakistan, Japan, and India.
Iran also defeated India, Afghanistan, and Taiwan with three straight sets in the preliminary round of the tourney.
In the other matches of the day, India defeated Japan 3-1, Australia blanked Sri Lanka 3-0, South Korea overpowered China 3-2, Thailand overtook Taiwan 3-1, Kazakhstan beat Afghanistan 3-0, Indonesia won its match against Turkmenistan 3-1, and Qatar thrashed Uzbekistan 3-0.
The Iranian national squad is scheduled to take on Japan on Monday.
The Asian tourney opened on September 21 in Tehran and will run until September 29, with 16 teams vying for the top place of Asian volleyball.
