West failed to achieve objectives in anti-Iran moves: Jalili

Secretary of Iran

Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalili says Western powers have failed to prevent Iran from accessing the peaceful nuclear energy despite raising a myriad of issues against the country.

Iran's nuclear energy activities are based on the Islamic Republic’s legitimate rights and symbolize resistance and progress. Iran has proved that it can [not only] resist against extremism, [but] achieve success in the face of the West’s economic, statutory, technical and political hurdles, said Jalili during an open session of the Majlis on Wednesday.

He added that the idea of a symbolic nuclear Iran was not palatable for the enemies.

They (the enemies) took a host of measures but failed to hinder Iran's progress, Iran’s top nuclear negotiator stated.

Jalili also noted that Iran’s Islamic establishment is a democratic system and any “political competition in our country will always lead to stability and strengthening of the system.”

“We have individuals for nuclear energy activities who have succeeded in making great progress by indigenous capacity,” he pointed out.
